NEWARK: A graveside funeral service for Lois A. Clary, 91 of Heath will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday December 6, 2010 at Wilson Cemetery.
Mrs. Clary died Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born March 15, 1919 in Newark, Ohio to the late Carl and Hazel (Hagerman) Gienger.
Mrs. Clary retired after 21 years in the Clerk of Courts, Title Office. She was a graduate of the 1937 class of Newark High School. She was formerly involved with the Licking Memorial Twigs, Newark Chapter 305 O.E.S. and the Newark Model A Club. In her youth she played on several basketball teams and in later years continued to follow the sport as an observer. She belonged to several bowling leagues during her employment at the courthouse. She had a special interest in horses during her life. Her family recalls her wonderful sense of humor and cooking abilities.
She is survived by her sons, William (Bonnie) Clary of Croton, Richard Clary of Heath, James l. (Debra) Clary of Newark; grandchildren, Miles Clary of Westerville, Michelle Clary of FL., Kelli (Steve) Chickos of Fl., Rick (Kelly) Clary of Cleveland, Sam Clary of Heath, Derek (Wendy) Clary of Grove City, Vanessa (Adam) Himes of Newark; great grandchildren, Ally and Jack Clary.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jack K. Clary, who died October 29, 1992; sisters, Bessie White, Esther Fraley; brother, Gene Gienger.
Calling hours will be observed 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, December 5, 2010 from.at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
