Funeral services for Lloyd E. Flowers, 100 of Hanover will be held Saturday May 31, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Vensil ?Orr & Chute Funeral Home 1850 West Main Street, Newark, Ohio with Rev. Paul Greenwell officiating.Mr. Flowers died Wednesday May 28, 2003 at the Newark Health Care Centre. He was born October 1, 1902 in Meigs Twp. Muskingum County, Ohio to the late Hayes H. and Lydia L. (Trainer) Flowers. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 72 years , Ruth R. ( Burrier ) Flowers on June 14, 1995. Also, a son Lloyd Flowers, Jr., three brothers; Harold, Lester, Harvey Flowers and sister Opal Drier are deceased.Mr. Flowers was a lifetime resident of Hanover. He had served on the Hanover Volunteer Fire Department and Village Council. He was employed sixteen years by Pharis Tire and Rubber, owner of the Licking Valley Swim Club and employed 16 years as a school bus driver for the Licking Valley School District.Survivors include his children; Virginia Flowers, Chester (Edith) Flowers, Jane (Jim) Hamby, Naomi Waters, Esther (John) Weeks, Juanita (Harold) Lynn, Kenneth Flowers, Donna (Floyd) Renicker, Phyllis (Emerson) Acord, Walter (Lois) Flowers, and Patricia (Dennis) Waters all of Hanover, Roy (Ruth) Flowers of Kirkersville, Delores McPeek of Coshocton, Vivian (Roy) Wilson of Millersport and Sharon (Earl) Wallace of Newark, sister; Alice Hartstine of Mt. Vernon, two brothers; Ralph (Louise) Flowers of Port Huron, Michigan and Thoburn (Pearl) Flowers of Jeffersonville, forty-one grandchildren, sixty-six great grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be observed Friday May 30, 2003 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Vensil ?
