Linda K. Gaswint Purtee, 72, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Sunday afternoon, February 24, 2013 at her home.
Born June 12, 1940 in Zanesville, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Paul Jones and Joanna (Cameron) Jones Shustar. Mrs. Purtee was a member of the Calvary Christian Church of Frazeysburg for many years and was active in the Abundant Life Ministries. She, along with her husband, was very involved in missionary work and they assisted in the building of two orphanages in Mexico. She loved to crochet hats and she sent her "happy hats" to countries all over the world. Mrs. Purtee was retired from Time-Warner where she had worked in the customer service department.
Surviving is her husband, Samuel A. Purtee whom she married in 1992; six sons, Stephen J. (Jan) Gaswint of Nashport, Ohio, Patrick J. (Lisa) Gaswint of Findlay, Ohio, Douglas (Dreama) Purtee of Bethel, Ohio, James A. (Dana) Purtee of Williamsburg, Ohio, Jason Purtee of Marne, Ohio and John (Holly) Purtee of Martinsburg, Ohio; two daughters, Tammy (Mike) Huston of Ripley, Ohio and Julian Purtee of Somerset, Ohio; twenty-four grandchildren and one great grandchild; a brother, John S. (Sandra) Shustar of Zanesville; a sister, Pauline (Robert) Weiser of Zanesville; her step-mother, Doris Jones of Zanesville; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-father, Stanley Shustar.
A time of remembrance will be from 12pm to 1:00pm Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Finley United Methodist Church, 4455 Pinecrest Drive, Zanesville, Ohio. A memorial service will begin at 1:00pm with Mr. Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Irville Cemetery.
