Linda L. Fitzgerald, 66, of Dresden, died at 10:30AM Sunday January 23, 2011 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio.

Born August 18, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Russell Fitzgerald and Blanche (neé Lambert) Fitzgerald Cosgrove. She was a tireless homemaker and a Baptist by faith. Her passion was the outdoors; she loved gardening and horses and was happiest when her hands were in the dirt or when she was out with her four horses.

Linda was a best friend, loving mother and the most special mamaw and is survived by her loving partner and best friend, David Mock; children, Lisa Lucas of Virginia, Melina Breeden of Dresden, Sean Vanorsdale of Orlando, FL, Sara Mitzel of Zanesville; grandchildren, Amanda, Daisy, Brandon, Jeremy, Jessica and Kyle; great granddaughter, Ava; brothers, Russell (Junior) Fitzgerald and wife JoAnne Lynchburg, VA, Paul Fitzgerald and wife Dora of Frostburg, MD, Norman Fitzgerald and wife Carolyn (Bunky & Peachy) of Bloomington, MD, Ritchie Fitzgerald and wife Cathy of Barton, MD, Milton Fitzgerald (Skeetie) and wife Jeanie of Wintergreen, VA; sisters, Janet Martin and husband John of Westernport, MD, Shirley Moore and husband Bob of Rawlings, MD.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert (Mary) Fitzgerald from Keyser, MD.

Friends may call 6-8PM Wednesday January 26, 2011 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street, where services will be held on Thursday at 1PM with Pastors Mike & Melody Foster officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bittersweet Cemetery on Prospect Church Road near Dresden.
