Leslie Burkett, 73, of Adamsville, Ohio died Tuesday evening, November 4, 2014 at his home.
Born October 26, 1941 in London, England, he was a son of the late Stanley and Doris (Watts) Burkett. Mr. Burkett was a retired department manager of the Zanesville Holiday Inn. He had previously been employed as a manager with Halliburton. He was a member of the Eagles and the Muskingum Valley Boating Association and enjoyed boating, fishing and watching western movies. He was also very active in fund raising with the American Cancer Society.
Surviving is his wife, Barbara E. (Hambrick) Burkett whom he married January 17, 1970; two daughters, Christina (Royston) Cleary of Roseville, Ohio and Sara Burkett of Tallmadge, Ohio; four grandchildren, Joshua, Samuel, Benjamin and Jacob Cleary; two brothers, Roy (Maureen) Burkett and Mick (Carol) Burkett both of London, England; three sisters, Jean Price of Devon, England, Audrey Methden of Springfield, Ohio and Margaret (Alf) Ketteridge of London, England and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Jason Burkett and a brother, John Burkett.
Memorial services will be 1:00pm Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
