C. Leroy Dickerson, 75, of Frazeysburg, Ohio went to be with the Lord Tuesday evening, April 5, 2016 at his home. His loving family was at his side as he passed peacefully.
Born April 12, 1940 in Coshocton, Ohio he was the son of the late Ralph and Dorothy (Cupps) Dickerson Payne. Leroy retired from the composing department at Shaw-Barton/JII in Coshocton with 45 years of service. He was a member of the Frazeysburg United Methodist Church and Coshocton Lodge #96, F. & A. M. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
Surviving is his loving wife of 58 years, Carolyn (Zimmer) Dickerson whom he married August 30, 1958; two daughters, Tonya (Billy) Nichols of Coshocton and Karen (Steve) Barbour of Cape Coral, Florida; a son Dwayne Dickerson of Frazeysburg; six grandchildren, Alisha Boyd, Krystal Boyd, Jessica Barbour, LeighAnn Barbour, Jennifer Wethington and Ryan Nichols; three great grandchildren, Jase, Kyler and Cole Wethington and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-father, Rex L. Payne; and two half sisters, Patty E. Bunch and Marlene A. Payne.
Calling hours are 5pm to 8pm Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Coshocton Lodge #96 will conduct Masonic services at 8pm Friday, following calling hours.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Belt officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
