Leora F. Conkle, 77, of Dresden, Ohio died Saturday morning, December 24, 2011 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville.
Born December 6, 1934 in Dresden she was a daughter of the late William C. and Amanda (Moore) Pence and was a homemaker. Mrs. Conkle was a longtime member of the Dresden First Baptist Church and was a very faithful in reading her Bible. She also enjoyed doing Sudoku puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.
Surviving is one son Mark (Barbara) Conkle of Minster, Ohio; three daughters, Balinda Conkle and Penny (Steve) Hoy, both of Dresden and Betty (Delbert) Meddings of Trinway; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two brothers, Eldred "Gene" Pence of Zanesville and Dudley (Laverda) Pence of Wisconsin; four sisters, Betty Boyer of Baltimore, Maryland, Annabelle Lacy and Doris Griffith, both of Dresden and Genevieve Tyson of Zanesville; a daughter in-law, Cindy Conkle Gotti of West Lafayette, Ohio; a sister in-law, Grace Pence of Dresden and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Orin L. Conkle whom she married February 16, 1952 and who died February 22, 2007; two sons, Larry L. Conkle and Rudy G. Conkle; a granddaughter, Danielle Conkle; two brothers, Delbert "Buck" Pence and Spurgeon Pence and a sister, Cora Oliver.
Calling hours will be 5 to 8pm Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Dresden First Baptist Church, 801 Chestnut Street, Dresden with the Rev. Albert Kinsey and the Rev. Andrew Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
