Obituary

Leonard M. "Len" Park, 82, of Dresden, Ohio died Friday morning, December 9, 2011 at his home.
Born October 4, 1929 in Trinway, Ohio he was the son of the late Earl W. and Bertha M. (Atwood) Park and was a 1947 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Mr. Park worked for many years in delivery and sales, first with the Meadow Gold Company, then Fairmont Foods and retiring in 1994 from the Borden Company with over 35 years of service. After his retirement he worked as a handyman for the Dresden Post Office until this past summer.
His life was an expression of love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the way he endeared himself to all he came in contact with. Mr. Park attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Zanesville, Ohio. He was a charter member of the Dresden Church of the Nazarene with 52 years of membership. He was dedicated to his family and loved playing with his grandchildren in his yard. He also enjoyed working puzzles and he loved watching birds and feeding them.
Surviving is his wife of nearly 61 years, Carol E. (Graves) Park whom he married December 25, 1950; a son and daughter in-law, Gary and Debbie Park of Dresden; two daughters and sons in-law, Diane and Jeff Rushlow of Dresden and Cheryl (Cherrie) and Mike Tatro of Zanesville; nine grandchildren, Heather (Anthony) Calandro, Heidi Fischer, Chris Myers, Michael (Mandy) Park, Doug Park, Bryan Park, Jason (Sarah) Rollison, Melissa (Keith) Riley and Cara (Jared) Hindel; and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Wayne (Judy) Park of Frazeysburg and Hubert (Mary) Park of Dayton, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and Glen Park.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Gates, II and the Rev. Steve Dupler officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery. The family would like to invite all to a luncheon following the service at the Dresden United Methodist Church Social Hall.
