Leona Untied Johnson, 83, of Zanesville, Ohio died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in the emergency room of Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.
Born August 18, 1932 in Frazeysburg, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Wilbur "Baily" and Velma (Baughman) Untied. Leona was a graduate of Frazeysburg High School and the Bethesda School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse and worked in the Labor and Delivery unit of Bethesda Hospital for many years. She loved cooking, gardening and fishing and made many trips to Canada to fish.
Surviving are two brothers, Virgil (Sandy) Untied of Zanesville and Arthur (Ruth) Untied of Dresden; a sister, Esther Freshwater of West Lafayette, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Johnson who died September 27, 2011; four brothers, Elbert, Kerney, Paul and Gale Untied; and her sisters, Pearl Trego and infant Grace Untied.
Calling hours will be for one hour prior to the funeral service, which will be at 1:00pm Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street, with the Rev. Robert Mesnard officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
