A graveside funeral service will be held for Lenny R. Mays, 40 of Buckeye Lake on Thursday May 12, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Licking County Veterans Alliance will conduct full military honors. Mr. Mays died Thursday May 5, 2005 at Mt. Carmel East Medical Center. He was born May 10, 1964 in Huntington, West Virginia to Leonard R. Mays of Florence, S.C. and the late Janet S. (Pinkerman) Mays. In addition to his father, survivors include his sister, Tammy (Andrew) Waters of Florence, S.C.; brother, Timothy Mays of Baton Rouge, La.; uncles, Chester (Sandy) Mays of Orlando, Fl., David Pinkerman of Delaware; aunt, Patty (Doug) Mount of Buckeye Lake; cousin, Dan (Brenda) Mount of Buckeye Lake; niece, Rebecca Waters and nephew, Joseph Waters both of Florence, S.C. Mr. Mays was affiliated with Arenacross as a self-employed contractor building Motocross tracks and operating Motocross races throughout the United States. He was also a member of the Buckeye Lake Eagles. Mr. Mays served as a Lance Corporal in the U. S. Marine Corps. Calling hours will be observed Wednesday 6 to 9 p.m. at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home 1850 West Main Street. The family requests contributions to the funeral home.
