Obituary

Lee Stevens, 58, of Dresden, died at 11PM Saturday August 14, 2004 in Grant Hospital, Columbus, following a construction accident earlier in the day. He was born May 21, 1946 to the late Harold and Edna (Smith) Stevens. A 1965 graduate of Three Rivers High School, he then proudly served in the US Army in Viet Nam. After his discharge from the service, Lee worked at the St. Regis Paper Mill in Coshocton and in 1969 became a union carpenter. Currently a member of Carpenter?s Union #69, he had retired from Hathaway, Inc. He enjoyed flower gardening and working with wood, especially bird carvings. He was a member of the old Chalfants Methodist Church and had attended the Dresden U. Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Patty (Cordray) Stevens, whom he married July 23, 1966, two sons, Walley (Kelly) Stevens of Zanesville, Josh Stevens of Dresden, grandchildren, Eric, Aaron and Emily Belle Stevens, step grandchildren, Chris and Jeff Warth, brothers, Herbert (Bonnie) Stevens of Conesville, Harold Stevens of Conesville, Paul (Judy) Stevens of Dresden, sisters, Sylvia (Richard) Wright of Conesville, Pauline (David) Mathews of Whitehouse, his dog, ?Minnie?, and his best friend Gary Emerson. An infant son, Gary Lee Stevens and infant twin brothers, preceded him in death. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-9PM Tuesday August 17, 2004 and one hour prior to services at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2PM Wednesday with Lee?s nephew Don Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Dresden Cemetery.
