A funeral service for Leanore G. Shroyer, 97 of Nashport will be held Monday July 10, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Homes with Pastor Paul M. Snoddy officiating. Burial will follow in Irville Cemetery. Mrs. Shroyer died Friday July 7, 2006 at Cedar Hill Care Center in Zanesville. She was born October 30, 1908 to the late Walter L. and Della (Green) Dorsey. She is survived by a son, Lawrence (Marilyn) Shroyer of Newark; sister, Kathleen Nethers of Nashport; three grandchildren, Mark (Robin) Shroyer of Nashport, Steve (Annette) Shroyer of Heath, Diana (Randal) McQueen of Mt. Vernon; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents her husband, John O. Shroyer, died Dec. 25, 1983; son, Otis L. Shroyer died April 28, 2006, and three brothers, Donald Dorsey, Clyde Dorsey and Leo Dorsey, preceded her in death Mrs. Shroyer was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed cooking. She and her husband had operated Railes Grocery in Irville. She had been employed by Ohio Plastics and was a former clerk at the Kresges Dept. Store in Zanesville. Calling hours will be observed Sunday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.
