A funeral service for Leanna B. Reed, 97 of Newark will be held Monday September 17, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Homes with Steven Hays officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery. Mrs. Reed died Thursday September 13, 2007 at the Arlington Nursing Home. She was born September 2, 1910 in Rockport, W. Va. to the late Harlan H. and Effie (Clegg) Henthorne. Mrs. Reed a homemaker read her Bible daily and was a member of the West Main Street Church of Christ. She is survived by daughters, Betty (Roy) Cozzens of Newark, Hazel Lauvray of Dresden, Dorothy Bennett of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.; son Cecil (Marilyn) Reed of East Canton; forty-three grandchildren; fifty-three great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Morgan C. Reed on December 30, 1988; son, Raymond Reed in 2004; brother, Clifford Henthorne; one grandson and one great granddaughter. Calling hours will be observed Monday 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.
