Lawrence Dobbins of Buckeye Lake, Ohio, formerly of Pulaski, VA, was carried home by the angels to be with the Lord, on September 8th, 2006, after a courageous battle with brain cancer at the age of 73. He was surrounded by his loved ones. He was born July 26th , 1933, in Pulaski. He was the son of the late Andrew Dobbins and Maggie Kanode-Dobbins. Mr. Dobbins drove a tractor and trailer for Spector Freight, T.O.E. , and finally retired from T N T Holland, in 1998, after 26 years of service.Survivors include his beloved wife of 43 years, Lula Mae Head-Dobbins, of the home. One loyal son, Lawrence ""Skip"" Dobbins Jr. and wife Rocky, Of Buckeye Lake, OH. Three adored Daughters, Sissie Slayman and husband Scott, of Dublin, VA, Debbie Alcorn and husband Ron, of Christiansburg, VA, Regina Mullins and husband Morgan, of Buckeye Lake, OH. Seven precious grand children, Brandy Gettles and husband Erik, Andrew Dobbins, Lindsey Dobbins, James Dobbins, CorbyLee Mullins, Victoria Slayman, And Ryan Alcorn. One darling Great-grand daughter, Meadow Gettles. One lovely sister, Opal Ratcliff, of Galax, VA. Three fine brothers, Andrew ""Butch"" Dobbins and wife Judy, of Glen Lyn, VA, Jimmy and wife Betty, of Pulaski, VA, Doug Dobbins and wife Alice, of Pulaski, VA. Several devoted friends, Pastor Dave Moody, Marge Schultz, Tommy Farmer, Ethel Braden, Bill Wingate and wife Mona, Myra Vogel, Philly Knight and wife Sue, and Ann Elswick, all of Ohio. Four wonderful Bichons, Boo Boo, Leigha, Buck and Susie. One sweet poodle, Sasha. One amazing Amazon parrot, Pedro.Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday, September 12 2006, at Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton, West Virginia, with Darrell Long and Emery Merchant officiating.
