Laura Mae Baughman, 76, a longtime resident of Frazeysburg, Ohio, passed away November 4, 2016 in Genesis Hospice Care at the Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents Troy and Margaret Davis, husband John Baughman, and a brother Jack R. Davis.
Born February 7, 1940 in Newark, Ohio, Laura was the daughter of the late Troy and Margaret (Moore) Davis. After attending high school in Troy, Ohio, she worked as a nurses' aid at the old Newark Hospital where she met her future husband John. Upon moving to Frazeysburg, Laura later worked as a supervisor at Ohio Plastics, as a switchboard operator at the Longaberger Company, and then at Aunt Bee's Market until her retirement.
Laura was known for her friendly demeanor and her hugs!! She would hug everyone she came in contact with (especially kids) and made you feel like you were the most important person in the world. (We always said she wanted to be everyone's Mom!). She had a smile that would light up a room and a wonderful, hearty laugh that was infectious! We can't help but remember how hard she laughed when she got really tickled about something!! She could be such fun!
Laura was an avid reader, dedicated Christian, prayer warrior and dog lover. She had a huge heart and her life was marked by kindness, humor and devotion to family. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren whom she loved unconditionally. She will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Surviving is her daughter Richelle (Shell) Stevens and her husband Jesse of Jacksonville, Florida; son Jason Baughman and his wife Terra Sue (Pollock) Baughman of Frazeysburg; grandchildren Reagan and Kendall Baughman; sister Ada Jean (Davis) Nethers of Newark, Ohio; brother Doug Heffley of Health, Ohio, sister-in-law Shirley (Baughman) Peck, devoted and special friend Flo Noland and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
