A funeral service Larry D. Ranck, 68, of Thornville will be Saturday April 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Heath Church of Christ, 1331 Chapel Way, Heath with Dave Mason and Ray Linn officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Fork Cemetery. Mr. Ranck died unexpectedly Tuesday April 14, 2009 at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital ER. He was born April 4, 1941 in Columbus to the late Ralph E. and Lois I. (Totman) Ranck. He was a 1959 graduate of Lynnwood-Jacksontown High School. Mr. Ranck was the third generation in his family to operate Ranck?s Milk Transport. It was started in 1949 by his grandfather and is currently operated by Larry?s son, Jay. Larry and his wife currently operated L&S Trucking in the summer during his retirement. He enjoyed basketball, softball, racquetball and after his retirement was an avid golfer. He was a deacon and active member of the Heath Church of Christ. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 46 years, Sharon A. (Redman) Ranck; his son, Jay (Jamey) Ranck of Thornville; his daughter, Annette (Craig) Bowman of Heath; his sister, Sally Keller of Hebron; grandchildren, Tyler and Lauren Bowman, Mallory, Rachel and Megan Ranck; sisters in law, Bonita (Lewis) Claggett of Newark, Jean (Scott) Jenkins of Florida and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter in law- Michelle D. Ranck on September 25, 2006.
