Larry Lloyd Hindel, 91, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died peacefully Monday morning, September 4, 2017 at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville, Ohio. His loving family was at his side.

Born May 10, 1926 in Dresden, Ohio he was a son of the late Joseph D. and Mary E. (Luckett) Hindel. Larry had a great love for our country and proudly served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was inducted into the Muskingum County Veterans Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Washington Township Baptist Church and Wakatomika Post 6139, V. F. W. of Frazeysburg. Larry was a passionate man who loved his family and his country and he enjoyed giving and helping his friends.

Surviving is a son and daughter in-law, Larry Wayne and Brenda Hindel of Dresden; two grandchildren, Laura (Adam) Seward and Russell (Danielle) Hindel; four great grandchildren, Aedin, Renae and Mason Seward and Havana Hindel; a brother, James F. (June) Hindel of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; a sister, Mary K. Smith of Frazeysburg and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Virginia Claudine (Moss) Hindel whom he married December 29, 1949 and who died August 23, 2000; six brothers, William, Leland, John, Dorsey, Jack and Donald Hindel and two sisters, Anna Slaughter and Loretta Groves.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, September 8, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Riggs officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery with full military honors presented by Wakatomika Post 6193, VFW.
