NEWARK ? A funeral service for Larry Joe Castle, 68 of Newark will be held Saturday April 2, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home. Cremation will take place following the services and private interment will take place at a later date in Millersport Cemetery.Mr. Castle died Wednesday March 30, 2005 at the Newark Healthcare Centre. He was born October 4, 1936 in Millersport, Ohio, the youngest of seven children to Harold and Ethel (Miller) Castle. He was retired technician at the Newark Air Force Base and a former dispatcher for the Newark Fire Dept. Larry never married. Although a paraplegic, he was an avid country music fan. He played steel guitar, lead guitar and was a member of Camfo Jammers band for many years.Survivors include four sisters, Eunice Adell, Betty (Randi) Toth, Dee Hartman, Janice (Ray) Dean; two brothers, Richard (Haru) Castle, Robert Castle and many nieces and nephews.Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, many aunts, uncles and cousins, a nephew, Anthony Dean and a good friend Jimmy Roach, who was like a brother.Calling hours will be observed Saturday 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.The family request contributions to the Country Music Fellowship Organization, 365 Eastern Avenue, Apt. 205 Newark, Ohio 43055.
