Larcena M. "Larney" Lacy, 92, of Nashport, Ohio died Tuesday evening, May 9, 2017 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville. Her loving family was at her side.
Born September 14, 1924 in Trinway, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Merrill and Nellie (Bumpus) Newcome and was a 1942 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Mrs. Lacy was a retired clerk for the Muskingum County Probate Court with nearly 30 years of services. Later she was a volunteer and tour guide for the Longaberger Company. She was a member of the Frazeysburg United Methodist Church, the Frazeysburg Fifty Club and the American Legion Auxiliary of Dresden. Larney enjoyed reading and playing cards and was a member of card clubs in both Frazeysburg and Dresden. Her greatest pleasure was being with her family and she shared time living with, and being cared for, by her daughters for the past five years.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn (Harold) Brizendine of Belpre, Ohio and Donna (John) Fulton of Nashport; seven grandchildren, James Mitchell (Mindy) Starner, Jon Michael (Millie) Starner, Victoria (Ron) Lakes, Tracy (Ashley) Spurrier, Jr., Trevor Spurrier, Kimberly (J. D. Kelly) Vickers and Kari J. (Darci) Kessler; several step grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and several step great great grandchildren. Also surviving is her son-inlaw, Alan Young of Nashport, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Lacy Young, her former husband, James E. "Jim" Lacy and three brothers, Harold, Jack and Don Newcome.
Calling hours will be 5pm to 8pm Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, May 13, 2107 at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Belt officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
