A funeral service for Lanny Ray Farley, 65 of Newark will be held Saturday December 30, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Robert L. Knox officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery. Mr. Farley died at his residence on Wednesday December 27, 2006. He was born June 23, 1941 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio to the late Ray W. and Marjorie P. (Atherton) Farley. Mr. Farley retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglas after 37 years of service. He was a 1960 graduate of Newark High School. He enjoyed golf. He was a former bowler. He played baseball when he was younger. He and his wife made many visits to Gettysburg, Pa., having a keen interest in the Civil War and the history of the area. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia A. (Watson) Farley, whom he married June 25, 1961; two daughters, Lana Rae (Scott) Wood of Ostrander, Ohio, Pamela A. Farley of Westerville; sister, Myrna Lynn Farley of Newark; four grandchildren, Brandie, Lauren, Tristan, Megan; aunt, uncle and several cousins. In addition to his parents, a sister Sharon Farley preceded him in death. Calling hours will be observed Friday December 29, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
