A funeral service for Kyle L. Kanippe, 72 of Newark will be held Friday evening June 19, 2009 at 7 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Decker officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Newport, TN. Mr. Kanippe died Tuesday June 16, 2009 at the Flint Ridge Nursing and Convalescent Center. He was born February 4, 1937 in Bulls Gap, TN. to the late Robert B. and Ida Ellen (Dan) Kanippe. Mr. Kanippe was a formerly employed by the city of Newport, TN. He enjoyed being outdoors gardening, farming and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time repairing small engines. He is survived by two daughters, Ida Ann Kanippe of Newark, Carla (Ted) Bryant of Greeneville, TN.; son Kyle F. Kanippe of Newark; brothers, Bill Kanippe of Kingsport, TN., Bert Kanippe of Peru, IN.; grandchildren, Vivian Kanippe, Charles Brown, Maryanne Brown, Melissa Brown, Angela Brown, Beth (Sasha) Catron, Alex Bryant; great-grandchildren, Natalya Brown, Brylie Catron; many nieces, nephews cousins and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Ann (Pack) Kanippe who died February 12, 2007. Calling hours will be observed Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.
