Kristy L. Chaney, 70, of Newark, Ohio died Sunday morning, February 6, 2022 at her home.

Born September 7, 1951 in Newark, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth L. and Kathleen (Donaldson) Darnes and was a 1969 graduate of Newark High School.  Kristy was a homemaker and a former sales assistant at The Lighthouse in Newark.

Surviving is her loving husband of 39 years, Keith B. Chaney whom she married June 6, 1982; a sister in-law, Kathy (Denny) Stewart; a brother in-law, Ken Chaney of Frazeysburg;  a cousin Eren (Stacy) Darnes of Newark; six nieces and nephews, Kris Chaney, Rob (Kelly) Chaney, Dawn (Jarrod) McClain, Ryan (Mindy) Harris, Kenny (Natalie) Chaney and Beth (Jason) Braddock and several great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Greg Darnes and a brother in-law and sister in-law, Kirk and Kathryn Chaney.

Calling hours will be 4pm to 7pm Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.  The family request that all visitors wear masks.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the funeral home with Chaplain Brian Humphreys officiating.  Burial will be in Eden Cemetery in Licking County.
