Kirk C. Chaney, 67, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Sunday morning, January 21, 2018 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio.

Born August 25, 1950 in Newark, Ohio he was a son of the late Edwin C. and Ila M. (Moran) Chaney and was a 1969 graduate of Riverview High School. In 1971 he graduated from Muskingum Area Technical College with a degree in electrical engineering. He was retired from the Holophane Company in Newark where he was a maintenance mechanic. Mr. Chaney was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church and Wakatomika Lodge #108, F. & A. M. He was an avid NASCAR fan and he enjoyed watching auto auctions.

Surviving is his loving wife of 46 years, Kathryn C. (Marhofer) Chaney whom he married September 3, 1971; one daughter, Kris Chaney of Newark; one son, Rob (Kelly) Chaney of Newark and four grandchildren, Raegan, Kate, Kolton and Karter. Also surviving are two brothers, Kenneth A. Chaney of Frazeysburg and Keith B. (Kristy) Chaney of Newark; one sister, Kathy (Denny) Stewart of Newark; several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and great nephews and his "best friend", his devoted Labrador, "Abbey".

Calling hours will be 5pm to 8pm Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 10:00am Friday, January 26, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Karl Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
