A funeral service for Kimberly Kay (Prouty) McWilliams, 64, of Newark, Ohio, will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2023 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Hanover Cemetery.

Kim passed away August 29, 2023, at Mount Carmel East Medical Center. She was born September 2, 1958 in Newark, Ohio to the late Charles William Prouty and Martha (Hewitt) Prouty who survives.

She was a 1976 graduate of Newark High School and a graduate of Otterbein College. Kim retired from Limited Logistic Services in October 2021 after 28 years of service. She was a former member of Wright Memorial United Methodist Church.  Kim was happiest surrounded by friends and family.

In addition to her mother, Kim is survived by her husband of 45 years, Lawrence James McWilliams; a son, Kyle (Christal Van Lear) McWilliams; a daughter, Megan (Chanyce) Speakman; grandchildren, Madisyn McWilliams, Emma McWilliams, Kate Speakman, and Kurt Speakman; a brother, Charles William Prouty Jr.; brothers-in-law, Bill (Paula) McWiliams, Rick (Irene) McWilliams, Greg McWilliams; sister-in-law, Jane Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, Kim was preceded in death by her father and mother in-law, Robert and Betty McWilliams;  sister in-law,  Karen (Herb) McKitrick; and brother in-law, Gary Smith.

Friends and family may visit two hours prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pride of Newark Band Parents Club; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
