Kenneth W. Swope, 76, of Zanesville, died at 11:10PM Saturday March 5, 2005 at Morrison House Hospice. Mr. Swope was born June 29, 1928 in Dresden, a son of the late H. Kenneth and Claribel (West) Swope. A 1946 graduate of Jefferson High School, he had been a past president of the Jefferson Alumni Association. He was a veteran, serving in the US Navy and retired from General Electric in New Concord. Mr. Swope had served as a Boy Scout Leader, an advisor for Junior Achievement, enjoyed coaching Little League Football and was a member of the American Legion in Zanesville. Mr. Swope attended the Unity East Church in Pickerington. Surviving are his wife, Marilyn (Mitchell) Swope, whom he married July 10, 1948; his children, Kenneth (Sandy) Swope of Zanesville, Vicki Wise of Strongsville, Joan Benincasa of Zanesville, Tom (Denise) Swope of Columbus, Martha (Doug) Creasy of Zanesville, grandchildren, Summer (Chip) Clark, Bianca Benincasa, Dante Benincasa, Marco Benincasa, Aaron (Rachel) Wise, Drew Wise, Damon Swope, Nicholas Swope, Dustin Rouan, Adam Rouan, Douglas Creasy, great grandchidlren, Amber, Ashley, Austin and Alexa Morris, Isaac and Elias Wise, Joey Swope; brothers, Carroll (Tami) Swope of Florida, Paul (Donna) Swope of Florida, Gerald (Shirley) Swope of Zanesville, Dale (Cynthia) Swope of Florida and an aunt, Ruth Shaw of Columbus. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8PM Tuesday March 8, 2005 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1PM Wednesday with Dr. Joanne Blum officiating.
