Kenneth N. Merriam, 60, of Mutton Ridge Road, Madison Township, died at 4:25AM Thursday August 19, 2004 at Morrison House Hospice. He had resided at that address for the past 24 years. Mr. Merriam was born October 15, 1943 in Zanesville, a son of the late Norman Kenneth and Ruby Pearl (Nelson) Merriam. He had attended Robinson Elementary, a one-room school in Washington Township, Adamsville Jr. High School and Zanesville High School. Mr. Merriam served in the U.S. Army from 1962-65 and received his GED in the Army while stationed in New Orleans. He attended Tallahassee Jr. College in Florida and night school at Tulane University in New Orleans. Mr. Merriam was a qualified pilot and had taken real estate courses at The Ohio State University and Morris College in Canton. He was a 1986 graduate of the Ripper School of Auctioneering and held an Ohio auctioneers license. He is survived by his brother, Dwain (Ellen) Merriam, of Adamsville; nephews Danny (Becky) Merriam of Adamsville, Doug (Michelle) Merriam of Zanesville, niece Kimberly Moyer of Zanesville, several great nieces and nephews and aunts, Dorothy Clark, Jane Burwinkle and Helen Moore all of Zanesville. Friends may call 7-9PM Saturday August 21, 2004 at the Adamsville Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2PM Sunday.
