FRAZEYSBURG – Mary K. "Katie" Swingle, 81, of Hanover, Ohio died Monday evening, August 8, 2011 at her home.
Born March 31, 1930 in Zanesville, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Charles D. and Lela C. (Moore) Elder and was a 1948 graduate of South Zanesville High School. Mrs. Swingle was a member of the Hanover Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling and any activity involving her children and grandchildren.
Surviving is her husband of 63 years, Robert W. Swingle whom she married July 3, 1948; a son Tim (Leslie) Swingle of Hanover; two daughters, Bobbi (Tom) McCollough of Pickerington, Ohio and Tammy Adkins of Newark, Ohio; four grandchildren, Ryan and Trent McCollough and Kaylee and Kyle Clawson; a sister, Janice Pritchard of Columbus, Ohio; a niece and nephew, Randy Pritchard and Stacy Trimble; several other nieces and nephews, many friends and her very "special friend", her dashound dog, "Sadie".
The Swingle family would also like to include as "special family", Katie's Hospice team from Hospice of Central Ohio. Their love and compassion will never be forgotten.
Calling hours will be from 11am to 1pm Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the funeral home with the Rev. Charlsie Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Hanover Cemetery.
