Kathryn E. "Kathy" Somers, 73, of Nashport, Ohio died Tuesday evening, February 28, 2012 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.
Born October 9, 1938 in Weston, West Virginia she was a daughter of the late Albert P. and Virginia L. (Hyre) Bush and was a 1957 graduate of Newark High School. Mrs. Somers was retired from Rockwell International where worked in the cafeteria and the vending department. She is a member of the Perryton United Methodist Church and was a member of the UAW for 24 years. She loved quilting, doing crafts, playing Bingo and working in her flower garden.
Surviving is her husband of 42 years, Joseph W. Somers, Jr. whom she married August 1, 1969; three sons, David A. (Pam Hoover) Somers of Coshocton, Ohio, Dennis W. Somers of Zanesville, Ohio, Joseph (Sarah) Somers of Cambridge, Ohio; two daughters, Deborah A. (Randy) Reasoner of North Canton, Ohio and Joyce E. (William) Perry of Corbin, Kentucky; two sisters, including her twin sister, Kathleen Roberts of Heath, Ohio and Dorothy (Bill) Britton of Nashport; three brothers, Bob (Sheryl) Bush of Ft. Worth, Texas, Bill (Irma) Bush of Garland, Texas and John Bush of Keller, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her two dogs, "Abby" and "Sadie".
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, James R. Bush and a brother in-law, Lester Roberts.
Visitation will be from 1pm to 2pm Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Perryton United Methodist Church, 6139 Licking Valley Road, Perryton.
A celebration of Kathy's life will be at 2:00pm Saturday at the church with the Rev. Bill Wayt officiating.
