Obituary

A funeral service for Kathryn M. "Kathy" Baldeschwiler, 68 of Newark will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday,  August 1, 2024 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Cory Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Chapel Cemetery.

Kathy passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2024 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born April 14, 1956 in Newark to Eugene D. and Dorothy J. (Wright) Vandenbusche.

She retired as the Project Coordinator for the Emergency Department at Licking Memorial Hospital in 2019 with 47 years of service. She was active in the Licking County Jail Ministries, Vertical 196. Kathy enjoyed participating in numerous 5 K races. She delighted in crafts.

Kathy loved watching her grands in sports, cheer, dance, plays, band, singing concerts, all the 4H projects and fair and just being with them. Her other love was the beaches, at Myrtle Beach with her entire family and Florida with Sue, Leanne, Linda, Deb, Cindy and Debbie.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah (Zachariah) Henry of Newark; sisters, Pamela (Dennis) Kerns of Newark, Cheryl (Bill) Stewart of Columbus; grandchildren, Hunter Henry, Peyton Henry, Lillianna Henry, Rowan Henry; nieces & nephews, Jennie (Tim) Morrison, Billy (Erica) Sadowski, Joshua Stewart, Matthew Stewart, Ashley Stewart and numerous friends.

Kathy embodied the spirit of life, filling her retirement years with love for the ocean, family, and selfless service in her community. Her kindness and forgiving nature inspired us all. We are forever grateful for our time together at Ocean Lakes, where Kathy's zest for life left an indelible mark on our hearts. We lost an incredible soul. We all love you.

The family would like to express special thanks to FirstLight Home Care, Robin Barr, Nita Fitzsimmons and the "Travel Girls."

Visitation will be observed from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
