A Mass of Christian Burial for Kathleen L. (Egan) Lewis, 92 of Newark will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 66 Granville Street, Newark with Rev. Father Bob Penhallurick, celebrant. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Johnstown. Mrs. Lewis passed away Wednesday morning at SharonBrooke Inn. She was born January 7, 1917 in Johnstown to the late Luke and Lucille (Priest) Egan. She was a graduate of Johnstown High School and worked as a medical transciptionist. Mrs. Lewis was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Raymond) Sardy of Cumberland, RI, Beth (Drone) Hudson of Swainsboro, GA, and Carol (Patrick) Guanciale of Newark; sisters, Lila (Ralph) Dennis of Columbus, Diane (William) Allmendinger of Prospect; grandchildren, Matthew (Amy) Sardy of Ridgewood, NJ, Ashley (Mark) Galo of Midville, GA, Vincent (Laura) Spencer of Lawrenceville, GA, Andrew (Jillian) Guanciale of Newark; and eight great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, E. Ross Lewis, whom she married October 20, 1943 and who died August 2, 1982; a sister Marjorie Thompson; and a brother, James Egan. Friends may visit 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2009 at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
