DRESDEN – Kari H. Kessler, 62, of Nashport, Ohio died Thursday evening, April 28, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
Born April 25, 1949 in Zanesville, Ohio he was the son of the late Carl A. Kessler and Mildred E. (Beckert) Kessler of Zanesville and was a 1967 graduate of Tri-Valley High School. Mr. Kessler was a truck driver for Hanby Farms of Nashport and he was the owner and operator of the Silver Dollar Saloon at Nashport for 19 years. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, the Sons of the American Legion of Dresden, Richvale Grange and a former member of Irville Lodge #184, F. & A. M.
Surviving in addition to his mother is one son, Kari J. Kessler of Dresden; one daughter, Kimberly Kessler Vickers (J. D. Kelly) of Nashport; two step sons, Mike Dibari of Junction City, Ohio and Mark Dibari of Dresden; three step daughters, Lori (John) Wolford of Trinway, Ohio, Theresa Dibari of Dresden and George Ann (Nathaniel) McColley of Coshocton, Ohio; one sister Trudy (Paul) Joseph of Zanesville; five grandchildren, Ryan A. Vickers, Jessica L. Vickers, Damien R. Vickers, Kari E. Kessler and Cheyenne R. Kessler; two great grandchildren, Landon and Logan Clapper; several step grandchildren; three aunts, Katie Heuberger, Anna Marie Kessler and Rosa Marie Kessler all of Switzerland; two nephews and two very special friends, Pam and Jane.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his wife, Billie A. (Griggs) Kessler whom he married April 19, 1974 and who died June 16, 1992.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Sunday, May 1, 2011 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 10:00am Monday, May 2, 2011 at the funeral home with the Rev. Sharon Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Muskingum Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Nashport.
