Karen J. dela Cruz, 62, of Heath, Ohio died Friday night, September 27, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family after a long, hard fought battle with cancer.
Born November 16, 1961, in Newark, Ohio, she was a daughter of Mickey L. (Warner) Roberts and the late Ronnie L. Fairall. Karen was a 1980 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and obtained her associate's degree from M.A.T.C. She was hard working and extremely dedicated to any job, most recently at Englefield Oil. Karen worked many years for Heath City Schools where she loved caring for the children of Heath and treated them like one of her own. Karen was a member of The Old Country Church for over 30 years. She enjoyed crocheting, Hallmark movies, and vacationing in Myrtle Beach with her family. Karen's daughters and grandchildren meant the world to her, and she loved every minute spent with them.
Surviving is her husband, Felizardo E. dela Cruz, whom she married August 9, 1985; two daughters, Brittney (David) Huston and Lindsey (Tyler) Stanford both of Heath; four grandchildren, Brycen, Brielle, Joelle, and Noelle; mother, Mickey L. (Raymond) Roberts; two sisters, Kimberly Saxton and Shawn Fairall; sister in-law, Norma (Ken) Wentzel; aunt, Linda Cochran; cousins, Patty and Molly and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father and mother in-law, Don and Lucy Cecil; brother in-law, Jack Saxton; sister in-law, Maritess dela Cruz; uncle, Terry Cochran and niece, Cassie Saxton.
Friends and family may call Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00AM, Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Wilson officiating.
Karen will be laid to rest in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio.
