Kandy Sue Cunningham, 68, of Nashport, Ohio died late Wednesday night, May 13, 2026, at the Selma Markowitz Inpatient Care Center at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark.
Born September 28, 1957, in Zanesville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Ralph G. and Shirley I. (Adams) Hupp and a 1975 graduate of Heath High School. Kandy was a Christian by faith and worked 23 years for Universal Veneer and later worked for Walgreens. She was a happy soul and a friend to everyone she met throughout her life. Kandy enjoyed crafting, especially with beads, going to Native American Powwows, gnomes, working in her flower garden and all kinds of animals. She was very passionate about her faith and the protection of Israel. Kandy loved her family and adored her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Kandy’s main goal in life was to make sure everyone she met knew the Lord and that they were saved. She wanted each person to know Jesus’ love and to help them secure a mansion in Heaven.
Kandy is survived by her loving husband, Michael “Mike” L. Cunningham whom she married September 24, 2006; daughter, Erica (Warren) Heminger of Newark; step-daughter, Melissa Perry of Newark; step-son, Michael “Mikey” Cunningham of Newark; seven grandchildren, Akira, Layla, Lindsey, Grace, Emma, Andrew, and Dylan; one great granddaughter, Raziella; brother, Dwaine Hupp of Newark and a nephew, Seth Hupp.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Mandie Cunningham and a sister in-law, Pam Hupp.
Family and friends may visit 11AM to 1PM on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil | Wagner | Marshall Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will immediately follow visitation at 1:00PM on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at the Funeral Home with Chaplain Dave Mason officiating.
Kandy will be laid to rest in Hanover Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio.
