J. R. ?Bob? Friesinger, 89, of Zanesville, died at 2:30PM Sunday December 7, 2008 at Morrison House Hospice. Mr. Friesinger was born October 31, 1919 in Zanesville, a son of the late William and Florence (Conner) Friesinger. He was a 1937 graduate of Lash High School and was an US Army veteran of WWII, serving in the 936th Ordnance Co. in the European Theatre. He had worked at the Hazel-Atlas Glass Co. and operated the Friesinger Candy Co. with his father. Mr. Friesinger worked for the Foldger Coffee Co. and retired from Procter & Gamble after 28 years. He loved his family and his home, enjoying camping and gardening, golfing at Green Valley and woodworking, especially making keepsakes for his grandchildren. He was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Zanesville. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Jean Friesinger, whom he married November 17, 1940; three children, Susan (Bill) Moore of Canal Winchester, John (Wanda) Friesinger of Myrtle Beach, SC, Eric (Marianne) Friesinger of Zanesville; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a special caregiver, Karla Leckrone of Zanesville. Friends may call 9AM-11AM Thursday December 11, 2008 at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 545 Richey Road, where services will be held at 11AM with Rev. Andy Winters officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park.
