Obituary

A funeral service for Joyce L. Lippiatt, 73 of Newark will be held Tuesday April 10, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Neal Avenue United Methodist Church, 12 Neal Avenue, Newark, with Pastor John Harra and Pastor Robert Garra officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.Mrs. Lippiatt died Wednesday April 4, 2007 at her residence. She was born December 21, 1932 in Tecumseh, Michigan to the late John and Caroline (Gee) Kopka.Music was a central part of her life, from playing the clarinet in the high school band, to being a member of her college choir and a trio group during college. She was an accomplished pianist and organist providing a music ministry in the churches served by her husband. She currently was attending Plymouth Church and was associated with the many churches where she and her husband ministered. Mrs. Lippiatt work experience included Tecumseh Products, Cleveland Credit Union, Huffy Corp., J.C. Penney and Meijers.Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Rev. Fred L. Lippiatt, whom she married August 22, 1953; children, Bruce (Debbie) Lippiatt of Grove City, Brenda Mason of Newark, Dan (Stephanie) Lippiatt of Tipp City; four grandchildren, Cory (Crystal) Mason, Cody (Danielle) Mason, Aaron Lippiatt, Alyssa Lippiatt; four great-grandchildren, Isaac, Makayla, Elijah, Celia; sister, Wanda Yoakum of Tecumseh, Mich.; two nieces and a nephew.In addition to her parents, a brother, John Kopka, preceded her in death.Calling hours will be observed Monday April 9, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Newark Chapel Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street and Tuesday one hour before services at the church.The family suggests memorial contributions to the Larry Jones, Feed the Children, P.O.
