John W. Hindel, 54, of Zanesville, died unexpectedly Friday afternoon June 10, 2005 in the emergency room at Riverside Hospital while on an outing to Columbus. Mr. Hindel was born April 11, 1951 in Zanesville, a son of the late Jack and Janet (King) Hindel. He was a 1969 graduate of Tri-Valley High School, a graduate of West Liberty State College and spent his teaching career at Tri-Valley High School. While at Tri-Valley, Mr. Hindel taught English and also physical education and had been an assistant principal at the high school annex. In the athletic department at Tri-Valley, he had served as assistant football coach, head wrestling coach and head baseball coach. He was a member of the Zanesville District Golf Association and had participated on a state championship winning golf team and had been a member of the Dresden Jaycees. Surviving are his former wife, Susan (Richard) Bunner, his son, Jared Michael Hindel of Zanesville, brother, Jeff (Deana) Hindel of Zanesville, sister Patricia Hindel of Zanesville, mother in law, Dorothy Tunis of Zanesville, aunts, Rose Hindel, Sharon (Pete) Vickers, Lois (Larry) Barth, Carol (Roger) Myers, sister in law, Judy Morgan, nieces and nephews, Channing, Jaclyn and Kayla Hindel and Brent and Ryan Morgan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Bryan James Hindel on March 11, 2005, his father in law, James E. Tunis on April 2, 2005, an infant brother, James Hindel and an aunt, Iris Shumaker. Friends may call 5-9PM Tuesday June 14, 2005 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30PM Wednesday at the Jubilee Revival Center, 10516 St. Rt. 60, Dresden, with Pastor Sam Greening officiating. Burial will follow in the Dresden Cemetery.
