Obituary

John W. "Bill" "Tollie" Tolliver, 69, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Thursday morning, December 21, 2017 at his home.

Born March 1, 1948 in Logan, Ohio he was a son of the late Joshua and Ruth (Dupler) Tolliver and was a 1965 graduate of Logan High School. He attended Ohio University and proudly served our county in the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam War. Mr. Tolliver retired in 1997 from Ohio Oil Gathering where he was an electrical technician. He later worked for Nestle-Purina in the electrical maintenance department and retired in 2003. He was a member of Wakatomika Post 6193 VFW, DAV, the American Legion of Zanesville, Irville Lodge #184, F. & A. M. and the Frazeysburg Lions Club. For over 20 years he played lead guitar for the band "Sanantone" of Frazeysburg.

Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth A. "Betty" Toliver, whom he married February 19, 1972; one son and daughter in-law, Jonathon and Olivia Tolliver of Frazeysburg; two grandsons, Marcus Tolliver, serving in the U. S. Air Force and Nicholas Tolliver of Frazeysburg; a sister, Nancy Ecoles of Florida and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his "best friend", his dog "Bella".

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Ann Garner, Linda McCombs and Sarah Goldsberry and two brothers, Frank David Tolliver and James Tolliver.

Calling hours will be 5pm to 8pm Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Irville Lodge will conduct Masonic services following calling hours.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Purvis officiating. Burial will be in Irville Cemetery in Nashport, Ohio with Wakatomika VFW conducting military honors.
