A funeral service for John Joseph Stovcik, 19 of Thornville will be held Thursday September 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 55 N. Fifth Street, Newark with the Rev. Barbara Sholis and Rev. Charles Rader officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens. John went home with our Lord on Sunday, September 23, 2007. He was born May 26, 1988 in Newark to Drs. Kenneth and Joy (Bebout) Stovcik of Thornville. As a youth John was active in Little League baseball and Boy Scouts. He attended Lakewood High School and graduated at age 17. John attended the Central Ohio Technical College. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was active in the church choir, youth group and as an acolyte. Recently, he was employed by Telecom Products Corporation. He traveled extensively with his family on many vacations and enjoyed cooking and playing the guitar. John especially enjoyed spending time with his many friends. John has always been a loving, compassionate person. He never wavered in his desire to help others. In addition to his parents, he is survived by paternal grandmother, Irene Stovcik of Middleburg Heights; maternal grandmother, Ivadel Bebout of Harbor Hills; aunts and uncles, John Bebout of Harbor Hills, Wayne (Sue) Stovcik of Strongsville, Debbie (Bob) Hill of Brooklyn Heights; cousins, Hayley Stovcik, Tim Hill, Colleen Hill, Julie (Will) Reynolds; many friends and neighbors. John is also survived by his faithful dogs Tookie and Hercules. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Casper Stovcik; maternal grandfather, John Bebout; great-grandmother, Flossie Feurriegel; great aunt, Tula (Bebout) Andrews and his life long companion, Bingo. Calling hours will be observed Wednesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
