John W. Robison, 88 of Newark died Monday, June 23, 2014 at Specialty Hospital, Zanesville.

He was born July 2, 1925 in Muskingum County to the late Ralph and Susan (McGinnis) Robison.

He served most of his life, full time in the Ohio National Guard. He retired in 1983 as the Head of the Weapons Maintenance Division. He served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII.
Mr. Robison was a member many years at the Perryton Church of Christ. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid fan of the OSU football. His favorite times were spent with family activities.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Jane (Williamson) Robison, whom he married October 25, 1946; children, Jana (Ron) Clutter, Leslie (Bob) Lake, John (Kim) Robison; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (LiLa Lee) Robison; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Homes with Ron Clutter and Leslie Lake officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.

Calling hours will be observed Friday from 10 am till services.
