John Robert ?Rob? House II, 43, of Dresden passed away at 1:20PM Friday November 7, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous two year battle with brain cancer. He was born November 11, 1964 in Zanesville, a son of the late John Robert and Alice Marie (Deal) House. He was a 1983 graduate of West Muskingum High School and a member of St. Ann?s Catholic Church in Dresden and past member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #29 in Zanesville. He had worked at The Longaberger Company for more than twenty years. Racing was his passion. ?Robbie? as he was known to many at area race tracks was well known for his many accomplishments in dirt track racing and was voted driver of the year many times. He was track champion in 2001 and qualified for larger races in West Virginia. Additionally he loved playing softball, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Stephanie Lynn (Brown) House, whom he married April 4, 1992; daughters, Melissa Kaylynn King, Allison Marie and Lauren Elizabeth House all of the home; brothers and sisters, Richard (Susan) Lloyd, Randy (Becky) House, Ron (Sheryl) House all of Zanesville; Barbara (Gary) Kittle of Newark, Linda (Paul) Stiers of Reynoldsburg, Melodie Alig of Reynoldsburg, Marsha (Joe) Volpi of Hilliard; many nieces and nephews; his father-in-law, Kenneth (Patty) Brown and mother-in-law, Kay (Doug) Border, all of Dresden; brothers and sisters in law, Steve (Rebekah) Brown, Sarah (Jason) Rollison both of Dresden, Seth Brown of New York City, and all the many friends he held dear from The Longaberger Company, the Dresden American Legion and the Speedway who made his last months very special. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Otis and Estella House and Bill and Mary Deal and a nephew Jacob N. House on August 4, 1999. Friends may call 2-8PM Monday November 10, 2008 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1PM Tuesday at the Jubilee Revival Center Church, St. Rt. 60, Dresden with Father Jack Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Dresden Cemetery.
