John Byron Ridgway, 78, of Frazeysburg, died Saturday evening, May 16, 2026, at The Oaks at Northpoint, Zanesville.
Born October 16, 1947, in Columbus, he was the son of the late Charles and Evelyn (Bush) Ridgway and a 1966 graduate of the last Frazeysburg High School Class. John drove truck for Mercer Trucking and was an avid collector of everything. He enjoyed finding deals on older tractors and cars.
Surviving are two daughters, Michaele Adrian (John) Druckenbrodt of Dresden and Heather Dawn (C.J.) Mercer of Frazeysburg; five grandchildren, John Anderson, Tyler Anderson, Amanda Druckenbrodt, Justin McGuire and Taylor McGuire; great grandchild, Jude Janes; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mona Kay Ridgway, who died December 27, 2024; a brother, Bruce Ridgway and a sister, Debbie Litt.
Family and friends may visit 4-7pm, Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil | Wagner | Marshall Funeral Home, 110 W. Third Street, Frazeysburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Wells officiating.
John will be laid to rest next to his wife, Mona, at Frazeysburg Cemetery.
