FRAZEYSBURG ? John M. Krichbaum, 66, of 5770 Narrows Road, Frazeysburg, Ohio, died at 9:15pm Monday, September 8, 2003 at his home. Born April 21, 1937 in Alliance, Ohio, he was the son of the late George and Grace Haas Krichbaum. Mr. Krichbaum was a graduate of Atwater High School and The Ohio State University. He was a retired school teacher and football coach with 20 years service at Tri-Valley Schools and 10 years with Licking Valley Schools. He began his head football coach career in 1959 at Frazeysburg High School and became the first coach at Tri-Valley High School, coaching from 1966 to 1968. In 1969 he became head coach at Licking Valley High School and continued until 1976. He was later Freshman football coach at Licking Valley for six years. He continued to be on the sidelines at all Licking Valley games and was honored at the recent Licking Valley-Sheridan game. Mr. Krichbaum also enjoyed farming. Surviving is his wife, Billie Sue (Melton) Krichbaum, whom he married December 21, 1977; four sons, Steven (Carmen) Martin of Newark, Ohio, Denny Martin of Upper Arlington, Ohio, Michael (Dianna) Martin of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Hobbie (Maggie) Martin of Newark; one daughter, Beth Martin of Frazeysburg; two brothers, Donald (Mary) Krichbaum of Caledonia, Ohio and Daniel (Becky) Krichbaum of Mantua, Ohio; two sisters, Lois Ante of Valdes, Alaska and Beverly (Wendall) Glaab of Louisville, Ohio; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 9pm Thursday, September 11, 2003 at Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 Third Street, Frazeysburg. Funeral services will be 10:30am Friday, September 12, 2003 at the funeral home with Minister Gus Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
