A memorial service for John F. Brown, 77 of Newark will be held Thursday July 10, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home. Mr. Brown died Thursday July 3, 2008 at the Newark Healthcare Centre. He was born July 10, 1930 in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Jay F. and Rouie (Salyers) Brown. He retired from Bonded Oil Co. as a manager. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was member of AA for over 35 years. He traveled extensively and enjoyed all the beauty of nature. He had a great love for his family. Survivors include his daughters, Brenda (David) Ohler of Newark, Carol (Victor) Lewis of Proctorville; son, Charles ?David? Brown of Davie, FL.; sisters, Irene Anderson of Greenup, KY., Loretta Hetzer of Huntington, W.Va., Martha Bentley of Alexandria, VA.; brothers, Robert Brown of Spokane, WA., Raymond Brown of Fort Walton Beach, FL.; sister-in-law, Rose Brown; seven grandchildren, Tricia (Kevin) Jones, Charles Lewis, Shane Lewis, Anthony Lewis, Raeanna (Mark) O?Brien, Brandon Luft, Patricia Luft; two great grandchildren, Brayden Luft, Aaliyah Reynolds many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Gertrude Stapleton, Eloise McFadden, Marjorie LeMasters, Mary Grizzle; brother, Jay Brown. A visitation will be held Thursday July 10, 2008 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street. The family suggests memorial contributions to your favorite charity.
