A private service for John William "Bill" Helphrey, 52 of Newark will be held at a later date.

Mr. Helphrey passed away at his residence on Thursday March 25, 2021 following an extended illness. He was born September 18, 1968 in Newark. He was employed a number of years for Brothers Tree Service and had earned additional degrees in agriculture and landscape training. A favorite past time was making candy.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy S. (Pesimer) Helphrey; children, Amber Helphrey, Kyra Litton; sisters, Lori (Mark) Dwiggins, June Britton, Lori (Charlie) Bline, Donelle Spohn; step-children, Doug (Lindsey) Pesimer, Codey (Sarah) Spears, Jessica Spires, Corey (Paige) Spears; grandchildren, Malachi, Evelyn, Doug, Jr, Caitlyn, Cameron, Brydon, Summer, Jersey, Jacob, Jordon, Lilly, Logan, Brailey, Christopher, Ara'traya; aunt, Joan Crozier; uncle, Frank Noland; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Suzanne (Jack) Ellis and John Frederick Helphrey; grandson, Jessie; brother-in-law, James Britton.
