A memorial service for Joe D. "Jody" Younger, 62 of Newark will be held Thursday May 13, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home 1850 West Main Street with Pastor Ron Hall officiating. A visitation will be observed from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.

Mr. Younger passed away at his residence on Friday May 7, 2021. He was born March 1, 1959 in Bedford, Indiana to the late Albert Warren "Bert" and Jewell (Perkins) Younger.

Joe was a graduate of Bedford-North Lawrence High School and earned an associate of science degree from Vincennes University in Indiana. He attended the Central Christian Church. He was currently employed as warehouse manager for Breckenridge Paper and Packaging in Groveport. He was a former employee for Warner Brothers Studios and had made his home in several different regions of the country.  He had been able to collect several memorabilia's through his travels. He enjoyed many different genres of music. He liked hunting small game. He was an avid fan of the Indiana Hoosiers Basketball Program. He recently spent time remodeling his home and was a perfectionist in detailing automobiles. Joe's personality made him an immediate friend to people he met. His foremost pleasure in life was hanging out with his daughter.

He is survived by his daughter, Mallory Younger of Newark; Mallory's mother, Debbie Fulton Younger of Newark; sister, Julie (Michael) Hetteberg of Columbus, mother-in-law, Barbara Fulton of Newark; sister and brother-in-law, Denise (Todd) Brunton of Newark; nephews, David Stebnicki of Youngstown, Christopher (Amber) Hetteberg of Columbus; nieces, Ashley Brunton, Janelle Brunton of Newark; special friends, Tony, Amy and Josh.

The family requests memorial contributions to the Licking County Humane Society, 825 Thornwood Drive, Heath Ohio 43056. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
