Jerry Alan Wheeler

Jerry Alan Wheeler, 85, of Newark, Ohio died Sunday morning, January 4, 2026 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark.

Born November 27, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio, he was a son of the late Glen R. & OraDell (Keaton) Wheeler and a 1958 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. Jerry was a member of Perryton United Methodist Church and enjoyed camping, playing corn hole and Texas Hold’em poker. What Jerry loved the most was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving is his loving wife, Lois M. (Dodson) Wheeler whom he married November 28, 2020; four children, Rick Wheeler of Hanover, Linda (Gary) Stoneking of Toboso, Glen (Jessica) Wheeler of Indianapolis, and Julie (Chris) Jordan of Croton; two step children, David (Janel) Grant of Glenford and Elizabeth (Donny) Butcher of McConnelsville; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren; a sister, Barb (Roy) Hammer of Heath and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jerry is preceded in death by his father, Glenford Roy Wheeler and his mother, OraDell (Keaton) Wheeler and a daughter in-law, Ouida Wheeler.

Family and friends may call from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil | Wagner | Marshall Funeral Homes, 110 west Third Street.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 8, 2026 at the funeral home with his son in-law, Gary Stoneking, officiating.

Jerry will be laid to rest in Perryton Cemetery.
