Obituary

NEWARK: A funeral service for Jerry A. Lees, 59, of Heath will be 11:00AM Wednesday November 10, 2010 at the Heath Church of Christ, 1331 Chapel Way, Heath, Ohio with Ray Linn officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.

Mr. Lees died Friday November 5, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born May 5, 1951 in Union Township, to the late Don Lees and Rozella (Young) Lees of Heath.
A lifelong resident of Union Township, Mr. Lees graduated from Heath High School in 1969 and The Ohio State University in 1975, with a degree in agricultural economics. A lifelong farmer, he was a member and past president of the Licking County Farm Bureau, board member of Ohio Simmental Association and the Professional Agrarian Club. In addition, he had served on the Union Township Zoning Board and had been a board member on the Licking County Soil & Water Conservation District. Mr. Lees was a member of the Heath Church of Christ.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Marilyn W. (Wells) Lees, whom he married March 16, 1974; two sons, Brian M. Lees of New Albany, Jeff (Denee´) Lees of Columbus; two sisters and a brother, Catherine (Ron) Dettore of Sunbury, Patricia (Marshall) Daulton of Westerville, Michael (Jodi) Lees of Baltimore; nieces and nephews, Greg (Adrienne) Dettore, Karen (Richard) Freeman, Ryan Oiler, Catie Dalton, great nieces and nephews, Julia Dettore, Grant Dettore, Danielle Hertz and Justin Hertz; his step father, Kenneth Lees; his mother-in-law, Delia Wells of Newark, a brother-in-law, Robert (Suzy) Wells of Vanlue, sister-in-law Marcia Vanderstel of Hilliard and their children, Andrew Wells, Stephanie (Justin) Xavier, Rebecca Zielinski, Cathleen Zielinski and several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Donald Wells June 17, 2010.

Calling hours will be observed Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the HEATH CHURCH OF CHRIST, 1331 Chapel Way, Heath, OH 43056.
