Jerrod B. Wood, 33, of Dresden, Ohio died Thursday afternoon September 25, 2014 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio after a very brief illness.
Born July 2, 1981 in Columbus, Ohio he was a son of Jerry L. Wood of Dresden and the late Christi S. (Vickers) Wood, who died May 2, 1997. Jerrod was a 2000 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and he received his Associate's Degree in Marketing Management from Zane State College in 2005. Jerrod was very well known by the community as a Die-Hard Tri-Valley Scotties sports fan. He attended many, many Tri-Valley sporting events and was the Tri-Valley Basketball statistician for several years. He also enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds and he love animals.
Surviving in addition to his father is a brother, Jason (Laura) Wood of Indianapolis, Indiana; his nieces and nephew, Elizabeth, Zoe and Isaac; aunts and uncles, Marsha (Chuck) Mason of Powell, Ohio, Jacalyn (Lowell) Morton of Lorraine, Ohio, Sally (Ralph) Fusner of Zanesville, Mark (Jane) Wood of Mansfield, Ohio, Carol (Kim) Davis of Dresden; and several cousins.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Beverly Vickers and Carleston and Grace Wood; and an aunt, Connie Fischer.
Calling hours will be 2pm to 5pm Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, September 29, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastors Mike and Melody Foster officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
