Jeffrey Robert Earnest, 65, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Saturday afternoon, June 9, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born March 8, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio he is preceded in death by his father Robert Earnest and older brother Greg Earnest.
Jeff was a 1971 graduate of Canfield High School and received his Bachelor's degree in engineering from Akron University. He proudly served our country with the U. S. Navy. He was a former employee with AEP of Conesville, The Longaberger Company and Westinghouse in Pittsburgh. Most recently he did consultant work for several companies. He owned and enjoyed riding quarter horses and as time allowed immersed himself in personal projects which included the complete restoration of a pre civil war Bank Barn that he relocated to his property. He was a member, and current treasurer of the Ohio Foundation Quarter Horse Association (OFQHA).
He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah A. (Starner) Earnest whom he married December 7, 1994; one son, Mike (Heather) Maxwell children (Mason, Michael and Jaxon) of Nashport; two daughters, Kristen (Frank) Davis children (Trey, Trent and Tori) of St. Robert, Missouri and Brittany (Ryan) Grimshaw children (Reed, Carter, and a son on the way) of Wooster, Ohio; Also surviving is his mother Mary Carlson Behne of East Palestine, OH; one brother, Eric (Judy) Earnest daughter (Lexi) of Reading, PA; three sisters, Sandy (Larry) Davis-Camp of St. Petersburg, Florida, Kelly (Brett) Walpole children (Kaylee and Kyle) of Louisville, Ohio and Michelle Garrett of Atlanta, Georgia. Special mention to his brother in-law and sister in-law, Andy and Heather Starner children (Mark and Dylan) of Hanover, Ohio; a brother in-law, Jimmy Starner of Zanesville, and family friend Vicki Deitenbeck along with multiple cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 1:00pm Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Following the memorial service a social gathering held at Bud's Incorporated (previously the Nashport Elementary) located at 6260 Newark Road (State Route 146), Nashport. All are welcome to join in the fellowship.
