Obituary
A graveside memorial service for Jeff M. Hopkins, 66 of Newark will be held Saturday October 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Prospect Cemetery, Dresden, Ohio.
Jeff passed away Tuesday October 4, 2011 at the Newark Healthcare Centre after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and associated complications. Jeff was born July 26, 1945 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Paul and Clara M. (Sturtz) Hopkins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Suzanne Hopkins.
Jeff is survived by his children, Mike (Tammy) Hopkins, Amy (Roger) Eveland, Paul (Jerry) Barton; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Brandi, Brittany, Breanna, Brandie, Ryan, Autum, Logan; two great grandchildren, Cason, Kallie and Olivia on the way; sisters, Paula Rink of Newark, Dr. Patsy (Dr. Gregg) Gehring of Madison, OH; brother, Dr. Jim (Jackie) Hopkins of Martinez, CA; numerous cousins and friends.
Jeff was a 1963 graduate of Newark High School. He was a charter, lifetime member of the Heath Eagles, member of the Newark Eagles and member of th Post 85 American Legion Aux.
Friends and family may call from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening October 8, 2011 at the VENSIL-ORR & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
The family request memorial contributions to the Woodside Presbyterian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
